Objectives:

To be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the different types of input devices
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of the uses of different input devices
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of how devices are connected to the computer

Outcomes:

To be able to:

  1. Correctly identify a number of different input devices and their uses
  2. Correctly select appropriate input devices for different situations
  3. Correctly explain the most appropriate method of connecting a device

Success Criteria:

Distinction/Distinction* Students:

Must be able to show a thorough understanding of a wide range of different input devices and be able to explain, in detail, the appropriate use of them. The Inputs Worksheet 2 will be correctly completed and the Input Devices - How used and what for worksheet will also be correctly completed with detailed descriptions in the 'How used' and 'What for' sections.

Merit/Pass Students:

Must be able to show a good understanding of a range of different input devices and be able to explain their use in some detail. The Inputs Worksheet 2 will be completed and mostly correct and the Input Devices - How used and what for worksheet will also be completed with few errors although the depth of detail in the 'How used' and 'What for' sections could be improved.

Students working towards a Level 2 Pass:

Must be able to show that you can identify different input devices and be aware of their main use. The Inputs Worksheet 1 will be completed with few errors. The Input Devices - How used and what for worksheet will also be attempted although there may be errors in the 'How used' and 'What for' sections.
